Timo Weiland Menswear: SS14 Collection
Timo Weiland Spring/Summer 2014 Lookbook
U.S.A-based Timo Weiland is shifting seasons with transitional pieces according to the brand’s spring/summer 2014 lookbook. The internationally shipped label debuted the editorial online viaSelectismearlier this month, later tweeting it themselves.
From the 17 images released, retro-influenced menswear basics appear to span several materials, including woven fabrics, leather and denim. Staples made up of colour blocking and horizontal stripes balance more experimental looks, such as a blue leather bomber jacket paired with pleated shorts.
The majority of garments from the brand, which is stocked as afar as Singapore and Japan, focus on spring-appropriate outerwear. Anoraks, windbreakers, varsity jackets, bombers and unstructured blazers have all been incorporated, with most maintaining a minimalist, neutral colour palette.
Designer Weiland worked as an investment banker before branching out into fashion with a line of graphic wallets inspired by his upbringing in Nebraska, New York and Florida. As a result, the current collection hints at American style with double denim, contrasting block-colours and light garments appropriate for warmer weather.
The former economics major founded the brand in 2009 alongside Alan Eckstein and Donna Kang. While he admits to having no formal training prior to launching his first line, Weiland now serves as Creative Director of the namesake label.
Over five years, Timo Weiland has greatly expanded and is now sold in 100 retail locations worldwide. The spring/summer 2014 will drop in the coming months. UK residents can have individual pieces shipped over direct from at a cost of £30.
