UK: Queen misses Christmas church service due to a cold
The Queen Misses Christmas Church Service After Being Taken Ill
It is a very different Christmas for the Royal Family this year, after The Queen was forced to pull out of the traditional church service she has attended for the last 30 years.
The Queen, who earlier in the week also postponed her travel up to Sandringham after being struck down with a heavy cold, was forced to send the rest of the Royal Family in her place.
The Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Charles and Prince Harry were all pictured attending the two services that run on Christmas day morning.
Also absent, was Prince William and Catherine, who are spending the day with the Duchess’ family, the Middleton’s, for the first time since 2012.
The couple took their children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, to a church service in Berkshire, on Christmas morning, which is the first time the Royal’s children have been seen on Christmas day.
It has been a turbulent week for the family after it was announced that The Queen’s granddaughter Zara Philips and husband, Mike Tindall had lost the baby they were expecting.
